Encompassing the well known area around the Stadthuys and most
of Melaka's most famous historical treasures as well as the
ever fascinating Chinatown with its antique shops and restaurants
the Historical District is an ideal location from which to explore
Melaka's past.
For our purposes this area encompasses hotels south of Jl. Munshi
Abdullah and within the immediate vicinity of Stadthuys. Hotels
in the historical district range from world renown 5 star properties
to delightful boutique properties. FYI, in order to remain objective,
hotels are listed in alphabetical order. We don't favor any
hotel for any reason. |

| Located just across from the Chee Mansion on Jl. Tun Tan Cheng Lock the Hotel Puri Melaka is the essence of a charming boutique hotel. Fashioned from one of the oldest Peranakan townhouses in Melaka (the former residence of the family of Tan Kim Seng, Esq.), the Hotel Puri Melaka takes you back in time to a relaxed grandeur rarely found today with comfortable rooms and warm, friendly service. Befitting a hotel with such a storied past, the hotel has its own private museum cataloguing the history of Melaka. |

| Don't let the Aldy's red facade fool you - the Aldy is one fine hotel. Smack in the heart of the historical district the Aldy has perhaps the best location in the historical district - indeed it is part of the historical district being located in one of Melaka's oldest buildings (hence its red facade - in order to match its surroundings). In addition to offering rooms that are clean and very nicely furnished with a smart, contemporary design the Aldy is home to one of Melaka's favourite caf?'s, the Bamboo Hut Bistro, on the ground floor. |
